Linking Web pages together
Once you have completed the template and all the pages associated with your web page you can link them together. To do this all you have to is go into your template and link each navigation to its page that you made. Save everything and now when you bring up your homepage you should be able to click-through all the other pages.
Domain Name
The domain name has three parts. The first is the name of the site, that is the part that the owner comes up with. The second is the extension, the most popular being .com. Some other extension are .us or .co for countries, .biz is for business, .net is for internet related.

You save a template in Dreamweaver by going to file save as template.

Take pictures into Fireworks, change the file format to PNG8. Switch to alpha transparency to help with picking colors. Older version of browser won’t show the transparent parts but will render it without as to not know it was supposed to be transparent.
I found this landmark in Ireland in the spring of 2009 while traveling through the country side. It was not anything special to Ireland and was just on the side of the road. I loved that it is tilted and falling apart, I wish I knew what the building was once used for. I wanted to make the black and white not so extreme and give it a soft a little vintage feel.
I took this picture in the spring of 2009 on a trip to London. During that time I took a trip see Stonehenge, sadly though you are not allowed to walk through the rocks just around them. I then took them into Photoshop made it black and white and played with the levels. I like that there is very minimal deep black giving the photograph a sharper richer look.
This was my first time working with Illustrator and I need to re-upload the file because I noticed some things moved at the bottom of the sewing machine. Recreating a sewing machine was not an easy task with all the different shapes that the machine has. I did this in the Fall of 2011.
This game was created in the spring of 2012 and it was all done in Illustrator. The sewing machine was sliced up into equal parts then I position the pieces together trying to keep it interesting to look at as there are some white squares. The font for the title is one I choose for the way the S’s were done.
This the label I made for a hair spray bottle and part of the label was used in part of a magazine advertisement I made. It was made in the spring of 2012. I used Photoshop for the background and changing the color of the cotton candy. I then made an Indesign document and placed the images in them. The text was added last and was based on another hair spray bottle.
Search Engine
This website has great links with definitions on search engine results, page rank, keyword tools. The page title is what Google uses for their searches while Bing does not use page title always for the results. Search engines are the main way user find websites. A good listing will increase traffic; most websites don’ t consider how search engine work. Google is a crawler based search engine. Human power directories are things like open directory. Hybrid search engine is like MSN search.
Good Host Sites
Keywords are the words the user might use to find your site. Should be at least two words long. Include title and atl tags.
Use Fireworks and Photoshop to make slices to define and create buttons and images. Does not create HTML code or account for incorporation of text/background images. For Fireworks to export css, html, and images import into Dreamweaver. When using PSD, smart objects importing to Dreamweaver. Photoshop save for the web and use CSS in Dreamweaver.
Last semester I did this collage based on Saul Bass work. Most of his centered around logos and movie poster that were simple designs. I tried to add as many of his designs that I could without it becoming to hectic to go along with Bass’s simple designs.
